One of my - non-fanfic - short stories just got accepted for publication in On Spec, some time in the indeterminate future. Which means everyone should totally buy the magazine for the next year and try to guess which story is mine

It gives me something I can say at those awkward office parties when people ask, "What do you do?"

It also gives me something to put on my cover letters besides a single encyclopedia article ten years ago and "lots of letters to the editor" of my local paper. ;-)
