Cutest. Kid. Ever!

I'm fairly certain my 10yo son does NOT read my blog. At least I hope he doesn't. I like to think I'm fairly cognizant of what he does online. Which seems to be spamming gaming forums and surfing YouTube for anime, as far as I can tell.

Not that an LJ cut would be enough to stop him, but anyway...

He lost a tooth yesterday. I reminded him to put it in his tooth pillow, and put it somewhere the Tooth Fairy could find it. Sadly, the Tooth Fairy forgot to visit last night. I think she got distracted watching porn on her laptop with Mr. Tooth Fairy after all the little Tooth Fairies were asleep in bed. Just a sneaking suspicion.

The boy was somewhat disappointed come morning, but we all put a brave face on things and reminded him that the Tooth Fairy has been an unreliable wench in the past. Why there was the time she forgot to take the tooth. And the time the money got lost in the sheets! His sister reminded him of the unicorn charm she got from the tooth fairy, one time when she forgot to show up three days running.

And then today he lost another tooth!

With two teeth in the pillow, the Tooth Fairy was very careful not to get distracted tonight. Sneaking into the boy's bedroom, she was quite shocked to find a note (written on the back of a grocery receipt and folded into sixteenths with OPEN and R.S.V.P. written on the outside) stuffed inside the pillow, along with a molar and a very bloody baby tooth.

The note reads:

DEAR TOOTH FAiRY
iNSTEAD OF
MONEY, COULD
YOU GiVE mE
ALL 3 YUBEL
CARDS FRO-
m THE YU-GI-O
CARD GAmE?

Noting the R.S.V.P., the Tooth Fairy responded with a note of her own, to the effect that she does not deal in cards, but perhaps he could use the pair of toonies she left to buy some of his own.

All seemed well and the Tooth Fairy was preparing to tuck in for the night. And then it occurred to the Tooth Fairy that this might very well be a test of some sort to see if she can accomplish the impossible. Either that or the boy was hoping that she was out shopping the night she missed visiting him - she's really not sure how long that note has been sitting in the pillow. Overcome with paranoia, and still completely charmed at receiving a handwritten note from a ten year old boy, she snuck back and left him a charm as well. It's a little dragon, somewhat tarnished because Tooth Fairies never keep silver polish on hand - and much manlier than a unicorn, in her opinion.

He's now got a third wiggly tooth... I think the Tooth Fairy had darn well better be on time when this one comes out!

;-)
