Indiiiiiiieee!!!

I'm excited, but slightly nervous, about the new Indiana Jones movie. Many reporters are sharing their worries that all of the secrecy around the new movie is intended to cover up its, well, suckiness. And that would be a horrific way to end the series, after a run of three absolutely wonderful Indiana Jones movies. (Well, #2, Temple of Doom, was a ( Read more... )

There were only
Aliens 1
Aliens 2

Aliens V predator

no other aliens or predator movies count...the rest all sucked so bad they have been entirely blocked from my memory....

I knew I liked you for a reason..

Heh! I figure we'll have more in common as things go along.

And you're right about Pred2 sucking... except for that one moment, on the Predator ship, where Danny Glover walks past an Alien skeleton. RAWK ON!

(Does Gary Busey ruin every movie he's in?)

Don't shoot me, but I thought Gary Busey was Pred2's saving grace! He's freakin' awesome!

I agree about everything, except Star Trek - I still think First Contact is, like, the best Star Trek movie EVER.

I do have doubts about the new one, though...

I'm hyped about Indie, too. And X-Files is coming out soon too? I really hope Robert Patrick is in it a lot, in the final season I liked him and Annabeth Gish WAY better than ol Mulder&Scully...

Okay, First Contact wasn't bad. In fact, the Bork rocked. And Alice Krige is one of the hottiest villainesses I've ever seen. And the new Enterprise was far more cool than the one from the TNG series.

I think Patrick and Gish might have been an attempt to create "X-Files: The Next Generation", heh. It was stillborn. Like Scully's baby almost was. =/

I may acquire the 7th season of X-files on DVD soon. I already have the previous six seasons.

First Contact was the best ST movie!!! Then again, I'm a huuuuge Borg fan, so whatever they're in makes me happy.

I also really liked Nemesis. Almost as good as First Contact. Really freakin' good!

Off the top of my head, I can think of two reasons why there's a stronger following for Star Trek and Star Wars as compared to Indiana Jones ( ... )

I figured out another reason, shortly after I wrote this and was zooming off to work. Space (or fantasy) opera usually has multiple characters, and it's not just about the lead characters... it communicates a culture, which the geeks can adopt. (Spend scads of money on Klingon or Sith relics, learn obscure geek languages like Klingon or Elvish)

And in many geeks' lives these alternate societies seem naturally superior to our own. Even the dystopic ones.

And, as far as having my life? I watch pretty much zero television. I haven't for ten years. However, I collect TV series on DVD, and get my news on the Internet.

You forgot about DUNE.

My opinion: the two film versions of DUNE are symbiotic. Whatever one lacks, the other supplies. Very yin/yang.

Well, and all of the Dune movies were good, I felt. None was really "disappointing" or in "Clearly, WTF!?!" territory.

The Lady Jessica was ultra-hot in all three movies. Bonus.
