The Trip to Sydney

Mar 26, 2008 02:22

Trip was the operative word. I managed to trip not once, but twice. The first time, our 2nd day, was in George St. after we had lunched at The Hingara and were making our way up towards Central to catch the train to Wyong. The plus side of this experience was that 6 people stopped and offered assistance - 2 Chinese women went into an adjoining ( Read more... )

thanks, I'm improving. Am now starting to wonder if it was just exhaustion that contributed to both falls, it was an exhausting holiday. when you are paying for accommodation you feel as though you need to seize the moment, all the time. Will post about the holiday shortly, with photos, when I can find where the new computer has secreted them.

Thanks Deb. Bruises are fading and I feel much better.

How is your life going? I think of you often.

OMG that really is a shinner. Take it easy and see the doctor. Streets/roads in NSW are dreadful despite all the $ spent on them.

I'm feeling better and the bruises are beginning to fade. I will see the doc soon, just don't have the time or energy at present. Perhaps I'm not controlling my diabetes very well at the moment. I've just posted the first day of the trip, and have noted there that I was feeling very 'strange' seconds before I fell. My brain registered the fact that my legs were moving but I couldn't 'feel' them, giving new meaning to the term 'legless'. I suspect it was exhaustion and my inability to adjust to the 96% humidity. The whole week away was desperately tiring, even though I managed to fit in a couple of 'rest' days, one where we took the ferry to Manly, and the other I took the train to Katoomba. It is the first time that Sydney didn't feel like home (and I left in 1991) and the first time that Hobart did feel like home on my return. I was so glad to come home, and this little ruin of a house looked delightful to me. Hope you are feeling better soon, you have been trying to do too much also.
