This morning the Council Inspector came to check the new drains, etc. Presumably all was in order. Our friendly plumber Matt was in attendance for the inspection but disappeared soon after. We are wondering when he, or someone else, will reappear, as there are still trenches to be refilled, and general cleaning up to be done. It is obvious that the ( Read more... )

I once picked up a bag of potato chips at a convenience store/gas station. When the gal rang them up they came to $7.99 for less than 8 ounces. I nearly had a heart attack.

I am a fiend when it comes to watching the register when they scan my items. My husband, however, does not. He's come home with very pricey items because he doesn't pay attention. :(

I'm careful too of prices, and won't buy icecream at this shop again. We will just have to make some more space in the freezer so that we can store more than one container of it. Les is a survivor of throat cancer and icecream is the only thing he can swallow easily, and it soothes his throat. He does eat a balanced diet but icecream is his reward for so doing. BTW, he didn't smoke, ever, but he was a photographer and we believe it was working in the darkroom with all those chemicals that probably caused it. That's where digital photography is the way to go!

Wow! I never thought about the chemicals in the darkroom. My grandfather was also a photographer and used to work in his darkroom constantly. He didn't develop throat cancer thank goodness, but I can understand the risk of using chemicals, and breathing the fumes.

I am glad your husband is a survivor! Ice cream is a great reward. :)

That price was outrageous. I'm very good at watchinog the prices because I've had that same thing happen to me.

I agree it was outrageous, and I won't buy at this shop again. Unfortunately icecream is a necessity in our house because Les is a survivor of throat cancer, and icecream is the only thing he can easily swallow, although he forces himself to eat a balanced diet. The icecream is a reward for his effort.

That's an insane price for icecream. My local corner shop is luckily quite inexpensive.

I totally agree, and I will never buy icecream there again. I don't mind paying a few cents more for the convenience of shopping locally, but this was ridiculous.
