I find with Les away that I have less time, as I'm expected to send 2 emails a day, sometimes 3, and keep him informed of bank balances, etc., as well as chasing up tradespeople. Some days I'm so busy that I don't even have any 'down' time. I've spent most of the past 2 weeks trying to sort through stuff and ( Read more... )

It is beautiful here, at every turn of the road. I'm hoping to get out next week and have at least one photography day, which I've been promising myself for months now. I want to go round the port area, if I can summon the energy. It will be quite a walk, from one end to the other, plus walking to and from the bus terminus.

Hobart is one of the few naturally deep ports in the world. Big ocean liners can come right up the river wihout needing a tug, although they still need a pilot.

Beautiful shot looks a heavenly place.

two tips for the roses.

1. plastic bottles cut the bottom off keep the lid on but put tiny hole in lid. Put the top end with lid securely attached into the ground near rose, the fill bottle with water, it then gradually seeps out.

2. cat litter the dolomite kind is good to spread around the base, keeps water in the ground.

hugs

Thanks for the suggestions. At present because of work going on in the back garden (removal of a huge pine tree) all the pots are outside the back door, with the hose adjacent so it is not such a big deal to give the roses a drink. Now that the tree is gone I hope to plant a climbing rose against the wall.
