I've had a busy week, having to go into town on Monday to buy Telfast tablets from Chemist Warehouse, I take them to relieve my itchy skin a bit. I also had a shopping list for other things that I needed, so I was tired by the time I reached home. Tuesday I went in again because I had noticed clothing at Millers drastically reduced. One of the things I hate most about winter is the slippery roads. We have some roads here with multiple stoplights. You never know when they're going to go to yellow and red, and putting on the brakes can cause a skid. It's so scary! I tend to stay in a lot during the winter months. Stay warm!

Beautiful sunset!

Thanks, sunset is a magic time of day. I know sunrise is also, but I'm not going to rush down the street in my nighty and dressing gown to take pics, although when I was younger I would have been dressed at that time.

Lovely pics. Good grief it does get cold down there doesn't it?
I don't let Benji out, too dangerous around here. He prefers to hang down the end of the bed next to the heater anyway, spoilt little muffin.

This is abnormally cold weather, more like I remember from my childhood. It must be a 50 year event, like the unusual rain fall that we have experienced recently.

Smokey likes to be under the covers next to the heater (me).

Logically and intellectually I know it's winter in your hemisphere but it's just hard to grasp. I suppose you have the same sensation when we speak of summer.

Ice is far worse than snow. It's treacherous and I certainly don't miss driving in those conditions as in southern Spain we never have that.

I'm waiting for our ancient microwave in Spain to die.

I don't have a problem relating to the fact that there are seasonal differences in climate according to which hemisphere you live in. Xmas for me is always cards with snow and roaring fires, and Santa Claus in a hot, red suit even though we often have heat waves at that time of year, although in Hobart it can occasionally be snowing. Obviously it is preferable to forego the kind of Xmas meal that is popular in the Northern hemisphere, but again it depends on which part of Australia you line in. In Sydney it was always salads, in Hobart it is more likely to be a roast dinner, A lot of people celebrate Ozmas, otherwise known as Winter Solstice, the best time to enjoy a traditional Xmas.
