We had a lovely visit from Les' daughter Megan last week, which we both thoroughly enjoyed. I get on so well with her that I missed her after she had returned home. She has an interest in Astrology, and I have software for calculating charts, so I was able to send her on her way with charts for all her family, although stupidly I didn't print one ( Read more... )

Lovely photo of Les and his daughter! Glad you were able to have a visit.

I love the idea of Senior Week and free bus rides. Here in Alaska, bus rides are free in winter - to everyone - because of the bitter cold. We have a 'van tran' service specifically for the elderly and disabled that provides low cost transportation to doctor's appointments, etc.

Cute kitty pic!

I love the idea of Senior's Week too. There are lots of activities for Senior's. My friend Jan and I are going to the Senior's Expo on Monday, we went last year and found it interesting. If the Salvo's have their sausage sizzle on again we will go to that also. Most of all, I love the idea of free bus rides, and will make the most of that.

Bus ridfes would be necessary in AK, do they have bus shelters as well?

We do have bus shelters in some areas, but not in all unfortunately. But, for the most part, we all know how to dress for this weather. When I was working at the university, we had to park in parking lots and catch shuttles to our buildings. We had heated bus shelters there.

Thanks for the info on Spectra cream, I will find out if it is available here in Australia.

I didn't know about menopausal acne, but wait until your eyebrows go wild and you get whiskers on your chin! Maybe you could go onto HRT for a while, that would probably fix the acne, although I suppose it is postponing the inevitable.

Cats do look strange when they sleep on their back, but I was really taken with this pose, all he needed was a pair of sunnies LOL.

Megan is lovely and Les looks so proud with her.
:)
You've been busy and that's good. I'm really glad you've found something that helps relieve the itchiness. My daughter has eczema on her face and when she has a flare-up it's miserable.

Our gardens need weeding badly but it's so dry out there and hot still that I'm being lazy about it.

I love the photo of Smokey. He does look like he owns the place.
:D

The itchiest place at the moment is my abdomen. It's a relief to get into the shower so that I can apply the cream afterwards and get some relief. I've got eczema on about 80% of my body, and no real hope of it ever going away. My face distresses me because it looks so bad (to me, nobody else seems to notice). I used to have a lovely complexion, to the point that people used to demand what my secret was; there wasn't one, just that I had skin likely to develop excema.

I wouldn't bother trying to weed whilst it is so hot. The weeds will still be there when you feel more like tackling them.

Yes, Smokey does look very much at home.

I love the photo of the cat!

Here in Perth seniors travel free on public transport all day Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays, and between 9 am and 3:30 pm all other days. I love it.

I love the idea of free travel every day, but since we only have a population of 500,000 for the entire state I don't think there would be the income to make it possible.

All the cat needed was a pair of sunnies!
