The weather has been warmer than usual, so I managed to get all the laundry dry, and also worked in the garden. I removed 2 barrow loads of weeds on Saturday afternoon, and then went to complete the job yesterday. As I was finishing up I found another cluster of sticky weed, but it started to rain so it will have to wait for another day ( Read more... )

You must be under a tremendous amount of stress right now for the eczema to be so awful, J. Have you ever addressed the underlying issues? It sounds so painful.

I am sorting bit by bit as well. This will be the year I free myself and the house from a lot of the excess clutter---I hope!

I also hope you feel better.
((hugs))

Actually the stress is far less than it was. I'm pretty sure I have addressed every underlying issue, unless there are some I don't recall. It is very painful, and I am drinking too much in an effort to cope with it. At least I stop feeling it for a while, but not the best way to go.

I'm sure I will feel better eventually (if I live long enough).

Drinking isn't the way to go but I understand why you do it. It does numb things a lot.

((hugs))

I wish there were some really effective way to deal with that. It sounds as if you have a very extreme case.

Having the eczema spread to my face was the last straw! I skulked at home for a while, feeling too unattractive to go out, but had to accept that life goes on. The skin is so hot where the rash is, which now is almost everywhere. I only get a small amount of sleep, even with antihistamines, as I get too hot to stay in bed. Smokey cuddled up against me is no help.

Thanks for your comments on the sunrise, with Les to advise me where I go wrong I think I am getting better with the camera.

You have some spectacular sunrises and sunsets.

I'm sorry you're suffering so much with the eczema.

We don't have spectacular sunrises and sunsets all the time, but usually when they happen I am there with my camera.

I'm sorry I'm suffering so much with the eczema too. Like lupus it is a disease of the auto immune system. I had the infantile version, and now I'm experiencing the 'senile' version.
It was triggered when we moved to this house 3 1/2 years ago. For a while I wondered if someone had put a curse on me. The dermatologist was hopeful that it would clear up, but it just gets progressively worse.

My eldest daughter used to have eczema when she was younger, but she says it's almost entirely disappeared since she's been eating a gluten-free diet.

I'm thinking you told us you were allergic to Smokey! And couldn't bring yourself to give him up, but am wondering if you could
not allow him to sleep with you,and keep him out of the bedroom altogether.
I know it's hard because I love cats but cannot have them near me. Have had severe allergies since I visited Oregon years ago. I have to have my pillowcase changed every three days or more, and mattress encased in plastic, pillow in allery proof cover.
Plus you've been working out in the garden, exposing yourself to everything. And cleaning.Which I don't do anymore, but when I did I used a mask.
Hope you get over this curse, which is simply as you said,an auto immune disorder.
And miserable. Wonder if you've ever used Calendula cream or ointment?
