The Sunday paper said it all - Hung, Drawn and Thwarted. Labor 10 votes, Liberal 9, Greens 4, 2 undecided. I said to Les the previous night it would simplify things if we could vote for the Premier of our choice, who in this instance would have been the Green's leader. He outclassed the other two by a country mile. It would make for an interesting

Gyro, who lived in Tassy for about 15 years, says that people in Tas have wanted a Green Premier for a very long time. I read in the media that they thought Tas would be split 50/50 between the Greens and I guess the Liberals? I think they predicted the same for SA. Maybe the two undecided will go to the Greens?

I think they were predicting that Labor and Liberal would be neck and neck, with the Green's holding the balance of power, which is very likely when all seats have been decided. The Liberals have the most primary votes, and have claimed victory, but are planning talks with both other parties. However, the Liberal leader has already indicated that he would be prepared to offer ministerial roles to some of the Greens, which is a smart move, as it would be better to use their talent than leave it wasted.

Ah, I see where the 50/50 split is. I'm glad the Liberals are talking to the other parties. A little co-operation could help with governance.

It sure could. After all, politicians are public servants, whether or not they see it that way, and they are elected to do a job, not to promote their own egos.
