It was really difficult to read about the condition Luke was in when Reid found him and sad to see how unhinged Damien had become. I so don't blame Reid for over-reacting with the Snyders and loved that Luke didn't take offense to Reid alienating his family.
So pissed I have to run out the door to work before getting to chapter 2.
I don't like imagining Luke hurt like this. I really like overprotective Reid! Going off on Holden, observing the autopsy because he knew that's what Luke needed, comforting Luke when he woke and just the acceptance & honesty between them. “Reid,” Luke said, and how he could say Reid’s name with such a mixture of fondness and exasperation and amusement was beyond Reid. “You can’t disown my family from me.” I loved this.LOL Great story! off to read part 2...
I was so excited to see this fic posted. I can't even tell you. I just absolutely love your LuRe fics.
And this is just, like, all of my favorite things put together, with Damian, a hurt Luke, Reid having to deal with the weirdness that is Luke's life.
When the shot came, Luke’s face was still tightly pressed to Reid’s shoulder, held there by Reid’s unyielding hand to the back of his head. But Reid watched, in grim satisfaction, as the bullet pierced Damian’s forehead, jerking his head backward. He died instantly, falling stiffly to the floor, eyes wide and empty. There hadn’t even been time for him to register a look of surprise at an ending which really shouldn’t have surprised him at all
