Your ending would be a very beautiful one not only for Luke and Reid, but for the show in general, with the family reunited and Holden reclaiming his father role.

I've accepted the challenge, so here's my final Luke/Reid scene, as a 100-word drabble, because that's all I can write:

Not long ago, Luke’s self-satisfied grin would have made him say something cutting, something to do with trust fund golden boys and too many daddies.

Thank god that’s over, Reid thought with relief.

“Wow,” Luke whispered, traces of sex, smugness and love laced in his voice.

“What?”

“Your heart. It’s beating fast.”

Reid made a bit of a show of rolling his eyes. “Really?”

Luke nodded.

“And tell me, Doctor Snyder, is it dangerous?”

“I’d need a stethoscope to be sure, Mr Oliver, but I don’t think it’s life threatening.”

“Only life altering?”

Luke grinned again. “And there’s no cure.”

Because *of course* Reid and Colin were hot young snarky chess-playing roommates in med school, right? And *of course* Colin still visits occasionally to mock Reid's taste in coffee and exchange golf-hustling stories and whatnot. Why we have not yet been flooded with LuRe fic containing epic Reid/Colin flashbacks I DO NOT QUITE UNDERSTAND.

I imagine that after he stopped playing competitive chess Reid's parent started entering him into gold tournaments. When he was about fourteen or so. And during one visit Colin found a pic of teen!Reid in golf pants with his trophy, and laughed himself sick.

yep, Chris couldn't get out of the way fast enough, because he was about to go to another golfing game for the COS position... hihi.
I absolutely approve of the 24 hr. special, but smuchy needs to record it and cut it into youtube size pieces and make so really slow slomos, too. We will serve smuchy food and drinks for a week, so she can work on it full time. She will be payed by a short trip to NYC Oct 2011 where she finally meets Van and Eric and claims her fame among the fans. ;)
I would mind reading a fanfic of the 24 hr specail, you know...just saying...

Reid rises from his chair to go kick Chris ... I could totally see KungFu!Reid acting like that, I bet he's a natural or grew up in China because his parents were diplomats or secret agents or somethink.
