My Junior year in nursing school found me away from home for the longest period in my life up to that point. It was one of the most challenging yet rewarding times that I remember.

It was such an important lesson for me though. I was very innocent at age 20. Thanks for reading. I am furiously trying to get through the entries so I can give an intelligent and mindful vote. It's very hard being on vacation to get the reading done! My grandson wants my attention and rightly so. I am thrilled you got the pass for this week. You have plenty on your plate!

Oh that's so sad. My grandpa has this and it's bad enough in him but he's lived a long good life with lots of people who love him. To have that happen to a baby is so unfair.

That was just the beginning of many heartbreaking experiences too. My next rotation I went to the children's cancer floor. What brave little people they were!

One of my classmates who ended up specializing in pediatrics told me she was glad she never had children of her own. It takes someone really special to be able to take care of little sick ones all the time.
