L J Idol Exhibit A Week 9 Vital Organs

My name in Eleanor Eaton and in early June, just after the semester ended, my dear old friend Professor Clayton Dawson had a heart attack and was admitted to the hospital. I was curious how the topic I chose last week would look this week.

You bring up very serious points. We should all know if we and our loved ones want to be organ donors or not. Personally, once I'm clearly not gonna make it, take what you can and help other still live.

Thanks for addressing a super important topic in a great and important way.

I looked back at your entry too and it was still beautiful!

I usually write non fiction so this was a good stretch for me and a chance to talk about issues I believe in. I have spelled out my wishes in my own AD and definitely want any part of me that's good to someone else to be used if possible. I'm with you on that score!

Thanks for reading and commenting! :)

I have a very hard time believing this is fiction, it reads very real! And the Topaz bit touched my heart. Cats can become such precious family.

I'm glad it came across well then. Of course, it could have been somebody's real story with the facts at hand. Thanks so much for reading and commenting! :)

This was beautiful and I honestly thought it was a true story. I was going to ask you for a picture of Topaz. :)

I could have described her but I was watching the length of my entry. There really was a cat once named Topaz but she belonged to my cousin years ago. She was a beautiful friendly big yellow cat with green eyes. I borrowed her name for the entry.
I'm glad you liked the story and thanks for commenting! :)

Based on the narrator's name, I was pretty sure this was fiction, but became less so as I read it. It felt very real, including Topaz and Brian (and his doubts about which choice would be right-- the reader teeters with worry just as the narrator does). Clayton, too, felt real. I so hoped he would side with Eleanor and try to recover, but his choice not to was all the more suited to what the character should have done instead of what the reader wanted.

Very nicely done!

I always appreciate your in depth comments. Thanks so much for the faithful feedback. Looks like I will be leaving this week week but I'll still be reading and voting for everyone to the end. Good luck to you! :)
