My fingers ache so much but I continue to claw with my broken fingernails into the ragged rocks of the temple steps. The Mayan ruins’ path seems almost a vertical climb, so narrow, so hot. The scorching sun is beating on my back and head causing tickling droplets of sweat to inch down my cheeks and spatter on the steps before me.

I started to wonder with the Mayan temple climb if this was a dream, because the unrelenting difficulty combined with "somehow must reach the top" is the kind of torment dreams inflict upon you!

I'd say that the water-skiing sounds like more fun, but I'm not a great swimmer either, and I'd be in the same boat as you!

Thank you.You are a clever girl! It's always fun for me to try a little fiction but I tried to make it accurate in that dreams do have some meaning to them. I wanted a sharp contrast ( working so hard vs up in the air) in the content because that is how my own dreams usually are. Thanks for your great comments.
