Family and Love

For the past several months, I've started to be quite affected by couples breaking up. Whether they are just people I've heard of, or characters from a film or a series, it doesn't matter. I've just seen the last episode of Glee (a series I've been watching); to explain what I felt, I need to go a bit into details. The series is a teen drama/ ( Read more... )

What I'd like to impress on you is the fact that, just because you want to go to school in the UK, doesn't mean you are abandoning your career or your future. Ashley is going to encourage you to do what you dream of doing, because he has the ability to do what he wants to do and he loves you. Unis in the UK are good, so it's not like you're quitting. Hell I want to get my doctorate, and after I'm not burned out like I will be at the end of my Master's I plan to get my PhD, even if Graham and I have finally worked out what we're gonna do and I move there, because he's going to be encouraging and supportive. Just gonna wait til I can get some money to do so (legal residence stuff). But I think you get my point. You can have both Ash and your education and career, because he's wonderful like that and so are you.

Well... I didn't really explain well what Mum meant by that. She doesn't think that universities in the UK are not very good, on the contrary. I even tried to apply for my undergrad studies there, but since Romania was not EU yet, there was no financial aid for me. My Mum was just asking if I had focused all my plans around Ashley. After my freshman year, I think, I was in love with Germany. Still love it a lot, but UK sounds better.

I know that no matter what I choose to do (though maybe except the career 'nothing') Ashley will pe supportive. I have no doubt about that. My point was what I would do, feel & co. without him. And the answer is I'd still try to study in the UK.

I know the feeling with Graham. And that's good.. and I probably would still try it myself, go to school there regardless. lol Would just try for a school in London, which would be the difference. Since I still haven't convinced Graham to move there. lol
