I am incredibly annoyed. I was carrying my laptop from my bedroom into the lounge room when the cord caught on this stupid chest thing in the (very narrow) hallway, and the laptop went flying out of my hands. And now it won't even start. grr. I had heaps of fanfic on it, but at least all my work data is on my work computer, and backed up on my iPod ( Read more... )

Ooh no! Poor you!! I know this may sound silly but I think that at Best Buy they have that Geek Squad where they fix computers. Maybe it wil be cheaper than having to get a whole new one.

Hope today is a better day for ya.

Thanks, although we don't have anything like the Geek Squad here in Australia. I heard about it when I was in the US, and thought it was the coolest thing!

Shoot! *crosses fingers that computer guy can fix it*

who is so moody you have to pick the right day to approach her otherwise you get your head bitten off

I loathe having to interact with people like that. Even worse is when I'm dependent on them (like a few clinical psych supervisors I have had). *sticks finger down throat and retches* Ick.

But yay for adding data to Ph.D.s!

yeah, that's the problem, when I need something from her that's relevant to my work (and urgent) and she's in a 'don't come near me' mood. Teh irritating!

Oh my. That's probably what some of my labmates think of me. :P

UGH. Sorry about your computer. I lost my own laptop a few months ago. The one week that I took it into lab, a pipe burst. Right over my desk. And of course the department refused to pay for it. :( I'm still fighting with them on that. Hope yours turns out OK.
