So three weekends ago Amber, Micah and I drove up to Dallas to spread Dad's ashes over Cowboys Stadium as per his wishes (purportedly, to watch the Dallas Cowboys play in the afterlife.) His family still debates whether or not that was a joke, but knowing my Dad... I believe it.
So we never actually got INSIDE the place, more due to halfassery on our part than anything. Amber sent an e-mail to stadium officials a while beforehand (leaving out any identifying information) asking for permission to bring in Dad's remains--a request which was naturally denied lol anthrax). And then Amber and Micah rejected my notion to grow a pair, take a tour of the place and sneak the stuff in.
We were worn out from the drive and Micah had to piss like a mofo by the time we got there, so he hurried us around the parking lot until we found a nice tree, where we dumped off Dad. Hope you enjoy the view, man.

I'm the one looking pissy because I don't like getting my picture taken and wasn't prepared for it (it was also our second take, since my eyes were closed the first one. I am really bad at photos)--and Micah was bitching about hurrying up the whole time because he REALLY had to pee. Appropriate Cowboys swag provided by Amber (also check out the sprog.)
If you've never seen cremated human remains before, by the way, it has the consistency of kitty litter.
Oh, and I'm sorry I missed out on visiting my icyhomies in the area. Micah was driving that humpbus and it didn't make a lot of stops--we stayed the night at his aunt's house.
For some months now--nearly a year, really--I've been so wrapped up in my three big projects I hardly think about much else. It's a strange feeling, kind of anxious yet exhilarating, always pressing towards a goal... Sometimes even taking a minute to eat supper feels like a chore. I can't wait for the day I'll really have something to show for it.
Back to practicing with my new tablet, now.
