Oh my! First Phone Call about a Potential Liver

Last month, we learned that my daughter's MELD score (a way of measuring how badly someone needs a new liver) had been increased from 25 to 30. We'd been told years ago, when her score was zero, that people generally start being offered a new liver when they hit 30 or above ( Read more... )

It's been several hours since the phone call, so I suspect this liver won't be for her.

But we're keeping busy while waiting. We're making Oreo Truffles to bring to a 4th of July party. We've made the insides and stuck them in the freezer to set up. We're going to dip them in white chocolate and decorate them red and blue chocolate drizzles.

Thanks! She's not going to get this one (phone call was 10 hours ago) but I hope surgery went well for the person who did get it.
