I don't know how such an incompetent bunch got to be in charge at LJ. I've been maintaining for some time that LJ's ongoing and concerted efforts to drive away all their customers by screwing up everything that is good about the site is really just another variety of DDoS attack, but this time it's an inside job.

Another possibility is that maybe the site is now being used as a money laundering operation and therefore needs to LOSE market share and LOSE as much money as possible.
