You forgot to hang up.

But yeah, you're not the only one who can't deal with fire.

Oh, my appologizes. I didn't realize I had left the phone off the hook.

[There's a smaller sigh this time]...I do not have a...pleasent history when it comes to fire.

My name is Lemony Snicket, might I ask to whom I am speaking to?

Pyro and Hunter decided on a name |D brbpouncingyou November 15 2009, 03:41:53 UTC
Sorry to hear that, Lemony.

You can call me Hunter. Or, if you want, Allan. Since that's my unofficial name.

I've just been burned one too many times. You lose a house?

Your unoffical name?

...I have lost many things to fires over the years. Houses, my reputation, information, the woman I loved....

You're safe then Mr. Snicket?

Yes, quite. Even the drones in my household seem to have reverted back to their usual docile, a word which here means, not trying to attack me, behaviour

Did you and your family manage to stay safe?

eldest_hatter November 15 2009, 04:09:19 UTC
Yes, Arthur, Tiffany and I are all safe, though Arthur suffered some burns from the acid rain.

I'm glad you are safe.

I'm glad as well. [And there is a small smile in his voice...it's a miracle...]

Did you recieve anything from the mayor yet?

...I didn't like the fire either. Brought back memories for me too.

In the very least, it is gone now. However I doubt I will be able to sleep soundly for a while.

[There is a sigh] It seems that there are many horrible memories attached to fire...

Yeah, seems that way. Least we're not the only ones.

That's true. I wish you the best with any painful memories you might have.

I'm sure there are enough people here who could and would help combat any other fires that might threaten us.

mysilenceknot November 15 2009, 14:48:39 UTC
...I hope that is the case. Fire can be a truly destructive element.

bustydefense November 15 2009, 15:15:19 UTC
Indeed. I know a number of people were worried about the fire spreading.

Yes. I admit that thought crossed my mind several times as well.

What did fire ever do to you?

What did fire ever do to me?

[Congrats, there is now a harsh tone in his voice]

My dear sir, what has it not done?

It..it has claimed the lives of friends and family, including the woman I loved. It has brought about the destruction of countless buildings and homes of both myself and aquentinces. Destroying hundreds and thousands of books in the process And..it has started a series of unfortunate events for three children that are now on the run from a horrible, dispicable man who wishes to see them dead....

[He trails off. He could actually go on but he's run out of steam, and is about to cry]

That...that is what fire has done to me.

Oh.

*there's a pause*

It killed my parents and burned the hell out of me, but I still love it.

[There is a long pause...he is not brushing away a few tears.]

That is most remarkable.
