Do Captchas even work?
Captchas are on most forum software, and that hardly stops a near-constant flow of spam accounts, set up by bots, advertising cell phone sales to preaching the word of god. (no lie) I have to ban 5 or so on average each week.

As for spam adds on my myspace, on average I get 10-15 of them a week.
It is funny more than anything, seeing how many idiots actually ADD these people.

You have to report those people. If the `Space doesn't catch'em themselves (which they don't really care enough to), then someone needs to report'em. That someone needs to be us.
