You've waited four months for the release of a new Glee song, and when one comes out a week before the official episode airs, you don't want to listen to it.
Glee's Empire State of Mind has leaked all over the internet just a few minutes ago, and my dashboard has been invaded with torturous black boxes that sing: Click me and...oh god. It's so tempting and I've never been good at temptation (just today, I bought these delicious coconut balls which were ridiculously cheap even though I'm on a diet)!
Why don't I want to listen to it? Because the element of surprise is the best fucking feeling ever. And that is why I absolutely abhor spoilers! Of course, it is inevitable to stumble across some spoilers, particularly if you own a tumblr and people feel the need to broadcast every little thing that is leaked! I mean, sure I get excited, but then I get this sinking feeling at the bottom of my heart because now I'll be expecting things.
It usually happens with my favourite shows because I'm always so eager to look up trivia/quotes or when I can't resist the Special Features on the DVDs before finishing the series! This of course, happened in Angel's Series Finale with Wesley's death, even though I'm only up to Season 4 (which I'm planning to finish during my Mid-Semester Break)! And then there was Buffy's Season 6 finale which was also ruined for me (gee thanks, IMDb - Tara's death was a real big surprise huh) - I'm still super pissed off about that one!
God damn it!
It really is annoying and upsetting, so I took a vow that I would not actively pursue any spoilers, visit IMDb forums or visit Tumblr when an episode just aired. Seeing how I'm in Australia, I usually need to wait a couple of hours until someone is able to upload the episode online and it's bloody torture to sign in Tumblr and see screen caps and quotes plastered everywhere!
So yes, that is why I refuse to listen to this damn song!
