Activity Check Requirements & Hiatus Rules
Activity Check
Activity checks will be held at the beginning of every month. Every other month they will coincide with a (locked) in-house HMD. In those months, links to HMD threads will be required as part of the AC.
Generally, the AC will require each character in play to have TWO points of activity to pass. Each item in the following list counts as ONE point:
❶ A post to the main community with at least FIVE of your own comments.
❷ A post to the logs community with at least THREE of your own comments.
❸ TWO SEPARATE THREADS on the main community, each with at least FIVE of your own comments.
❹ One thread in the logs comm with at least FIVE of your own comments.
You may use any combination of the items above to create your two points of AC, and you may use the same option twice; for example, offer two of your own posts to the logs comm, each with three of your comments on them. Another example may be that you are submitted item #3 twice, in which case you would ultimately be submitting four different threads from the main community, each with at least five comments of your own, allowing your character to pass AC for that month.
Please note that "comments" means comments with text. Icon spam tags do not count as fulfilling the AC requirements.
Also note that we say that these are generally the requirements. Our goal is not to be overly rigid, nor do we want to disregard tag length and content. If your threads come in one or two comments short, but your tags all include long detailed exposition, we will certainly count you has having demonstrated activity for the month!
If you are in doubt about whether a given thread is sufficient to count for AC, please ask one of the mods. If you want to stay in the game, but are struggling with activity, we will try to work with you. If you don't respond to the AC at all, you will be dropped from the game.
Newly accepted characters
Characters accepted in the last calender month must provide a link to their thread in the intro log. The length of the thread isn't an issue, but we want to see evidence of participation. (If players prefer to instead post the usual AC requirements for new characters, that is fine too.)
Hiatuses
In order for hiatuses to be factored into AC, they MUST be posted on the official Hiatus page.
• Hiatuses that span more than two weeks during any calendar month will make the player exempt from that month's AC.
• Hiatuses of at least one week but less than two weeks will mean that players need only to submit ONE item of activity for the month.
• Hiatuses of less than a week do not confer any reduction in the AC requirements.
Regardless, players MUST STILL FILL OUT THE AC and provide a link to their official hiatus.
Hiatuses that fall during AC
If you are on hiatus during the AC, we ask that you fill it out within a week of your return. You can do this on the hiatus page by replying to your initial hiatus comment and filling out the AC form there. Alternately, if you'd like to submit your AC before you go on hiatus, you can do so on the hiatus page.
