Phonecall to Everyone - October 11, Afternoon [Backdated]

Nov 14, 2011 17:07

[Backdated to a few hours after the meeting yesterday, when Kanda returns to his room to find that someone's been eating his porridge stealing his clothes.

It would be redundant to say that he sounds angry, since he always sounds angry. This time, though, there's some bemusement mixed in.]

Who the hell has been in my bedroom?

[d.gray-man] kanda yuu, + heine rammsteiner, + zenya okinaga, + zatanna zatara

Why do you think someone was in your room?

Because there's a goddamn pile of bloody clothes in the middle of the floor.

Is something missing from it?

[Sounds of movement and rustling--he's still looking around.]

Maybe. Something's certainly been left in it.

And... does that leave you any indication of who was in there?

No.

[Well, that's not entirely true. He doesn't recognize the clothing, certainly, but...]

Only that they're injured. Or they've killed someone. [He says each with equal neutrality, like he's no more concerned about the latter possibility than the former one.]

[ ... oooooh?

he kind of hoped the person he stole from might've been one of those people that went missing. but, ah, ah, that would've been too lucky... as it is, it sounds like he couldn't have stolen from a moodier person.

zenya flops onto his back on the bed with a soft whump, dragging the whole phone with him by its receiver and twirling his hair in his other hand, listening to their exchanges.

aaah, should he answer, though? constantine saw his clothes before he changed, so maybe it'd be bad to say he heard this at all. besides, he hasn't heard from constantine since, so... there's every chance they went and killed him like he was worried they would.

all he contributes is a soft, thoughtful hmm. ]

[Moving around the room as he is with the phone in hand, Kanda almost misses that sound, but it's just enough to catch his notice and bring him up short. He gives the telephone equivalent of a double-take, an abrupt Heh? and listens more intently on the line, trying to make out if someone's really there.]

[ - oh.

zenya blinks up at the ceiling in surprise, drumming his fingers on the phone's stem, drawing it back from his mouth a bit. noooo-thing. just that little sound, and then a long, heavy stretch of silence. nobody else breaks it, in the meantime. oooh, are they all just listening, too? or are they alone, now?

... well, it's too late to care about this stuff, isn't it? he already spoke to that other guy, so if they're all supposed to be here and he's not, then they already know about an intruder, and it won't make a difference anyway, right?... stupid. isn't this stupid? this is just giving him a headache!

this guy can't even tell where he is, so who cares what he says? it's not like he's going to stay in this stupid place long enough for it to matter! he has a home to get back to. to christie and kitani and a family without that idiot. to youji. to dealing with tetsuo, and making everything perfect. like he has time to worry about some moron on a phone being mad at him... ]- Oiii. Say something, if you're going to say ( ... )

[He's actually about to say something--demand to know who is on the line. But then the voice speaks up confirming at least one thing: it's not someone Kanda has met or spoken to before. Someone who sounds like this he'd remember.

Beyond that, however, he's not really sure what to make of them. The initial complaint (Fussy? Tch.) sounds almost like an admission of guilt, but then the rest of what's said just...doesn't follow.

Naked? Streaker? Blood test?]

What the hell is that supposed to mean, 'anything nice'? Find what special?

[Hear that laugh, you've amused him, again, Kanda.]

Shouldn't you use locks properly, big brother?

[He does wish you would stop calling him that. So annoying.]

Tch. Why. It's not like they stop anyone around here. [Certainly didn't keep you out of Lenalee's room, after all.]

[What can he say - it's amusing when he's bored.]

True, but it might slow them down, or force them to leave prints. Those should be easily identifiable considering how few people live here.

What the hell is that supposed to mean?

Means most of us manage to keep track of who's been in our beds and who hasn't.
