Since I’m going to a quiz night tonight, and won’t be home for dinner, Dad just handed me a bowl of fruit and said “Here, eat this while I make you a bacon sandwich”.

Oh how taxing holidays are.

This ColourSplash, I'm most intrigued, is it digital or SLR? We found coloured lenses for flashes in Market Bazaar, in red, green, blue and yellow. Couldn't quite work out what to do with them, as they were circular and we couldn't figure how they'd fit into a normal flash pack.

I quite like the shots with the blue flash. The purple-ish one makes that poor lass look like a vampire. I'm digging this concept.

Tis film. I also have no idea what the coloured lenses would be for - this camera has a weird flash bit sticking out of it, which you can put coloured filters in.

So, it's only just occurred to me, knob that I am, that the lenses couldn't have been for a flash at all. They must sit on the lens barrel of an camera... Um, I'm a twat.

Is the ColourSplash a recent development? I've never seen such a novel thing before. That said, anything that could be done on it could be done digitally in PSP or similar. But film always looks 389528376187409235 times better than digital anyway. Same goes for film vs. video.

Recentish. The brand 'Lomo', which it comes under, is an old Russian camera brand. The other film camera i've got is a Lomo from the 1970's. The actual ColorSplash is a new type of camera though. Check out Lomography, which gives a good background into the whole thing.

There's a whole arguement that all Lomographic effects can be done in PSP, so there's no point buying the camera, blah blah. But film is always nice. :)

No red eye :) This camera have redeye reduction or is it the colour filters?

I think I am scared of flash to be honest. I find it anti social (or more to the point the people who's eyes I have just burnt out find it anti social) and ended up buying a low light 30mm F/1.4 lense. You have bugger all depth of field but being able to take photos indoor in natural light rocks big time:)

Bowl of fruit followed by bacon sanger... lol

Must be the coloured filters. In the three rolls I've taken with this camera I don't think I've got any red eyes.

This flash is incredibly bright. I always forget how bright til someone takes a picture of me. But I still shove it in people's faces. Lolz.

you still shove it in peoples faces....

tisk - and I thought you were nice... :P

I don't mind flash that much when I am in the photo but I get grumpy when I am down pub and someone just off to your side is flashing away like crazy.

If I was a good camera geek I would get myself I proper defuser flash with all the offset and time delay stuff... but I'm not so I haven't.

I really like the photo of you! Pity I somehow put a smudge in it. Actually, I have the feeling it's from the camera case. D'oh.

Ha! Lolz, you do! I really like that one - especially how the blue only just picks up the background. It's like a spot light on you.
