Figuring out what you don't want to do is as important as figuring out what you do want to do. Good for you for working with the OCS to see where your interests best lie.
Sorry about the last pair -- my goal was to have you outfitted cheaply for any last-minute interviews you might get abroad. Oh well, a waste of money no doubt, but at least now you have something better!

Yay, dress shoes!!! I think we are on the same page when it comes to schedules for work: I am all for flexible, wacky hours. (This is why I will starve to death trying to be a writer.) Carpentering sounds amazing -- if it was good enough for Jesus... (!)
I'm currently thinking of "All purpose odd job doer" as a vocation. What do you think?

By the way, I'm excited to watch you as a writer. It's going to be an exciting ride! I'm doing too well emotionally right now to write much (funny how that works...) but perhaps the muse will strike again soon.
