I MET KELLAN LUTZ!!!!! AND WE HIGH FIVED. AND OHMYGOD. I'M SO INCOHERENT RIGHT NOW AND NEED TO STOP WRITING IN CAPS.
Ugh. It was so worth the 8.5 hours in line. SO WORTH IT.
Kay, we got to WEM at like 8:30 and started lining up. The line was already pretty long but there wasn't very many people because everyone was sitting and camped out, so they took up A LOT more room than necessary. When I worked at the mall the night before, I had walked past the Ice Palace at like 4:00 in the afternoon, people were already set up camp. People stayed overnight to see Kellan and Christian and Cheske [sp?], the guy who plays Sam. Anyways, so people were there overnight and brought tents and sleeping bags and everything. Me and my friend Kim met these two people around our age. Surprisingly enough, they were brother and sister, Sheldon and Shawna. They were really sweet and he was there to get an autograph for his girlfriend.
So we just chilled from 9 in the morning to about 3, eating McDonalds and playing Sudoku and trying to study. A mother in front of us bought us McD's. It was really sweet. Kay so around 12 o'clock, they began to let people into the ice rink, giving out wristbands. They let in probably around 300 people. We were probably sitting around the 200 mark or so. All these people who got wristbands were guaranteened an autograph so we were extremely lucky to have gotten red wristbands. People we knew who came an hour later than us in the morning, didn't get them. So imagine if we came an hour later. UGH. I would have cried for sure.
So they played the entire movie of Twilight and girls were just SCREAMING at every little thing. They screamed at the cafeteria scene. They screamed when Taylor Lautner came on. They screamed when RPatzz opened his mouth. It was kinda crazy. My work is right beside the ice palace and I was talking to some of my coworkers later on and they said, it was the most annoying thing in the world and they were always scared shitless at the random screaming. LOL.
Around 2:30 or so, the girls at the front started screaming their heads off and everyone was like 'what are they screaming about?!' and people were standing up on tiptoe and trying to see and when Kim and me saw the blonde head of Kellan, we FREAKED out. I was a little 12 year old preteen at that moment. HAHA. And Sam (that's what I'm going to call him from now on) was walking around in the little enclosed area that was completely surrounded by security.
They came onto the stage at about 3:00 and did a little Q&A for an hour or so. They looked soooooo good. Christian looked really different though. Her hair was a light brown and she said she had been shopping with Sam earlier and that no one recognized them at all. Kellan just talked about food a lot. LOL. The questions that were asked were SO stupid. Really? You can't ask better questions. Like 'what's your favorite color?" UGH. The first time someone remotely famous comes to Edmonton and you ask them retarded questions? Anyways, one of the questions was "what was the funniest moments on set?" and Kellan went "Rob running." I thought that was pretty funny. Kellan also mentioned that Jackson is a lot stronger than he looks and in that birthday scene, Kellan and Peter were supposed to hold him back but Jackson like broke free really easily and started running towards Rob a lot faster than expected and Rob was just standing there going "AHHH." LOL.
They also asked them 'what they liked to do on their free time on set' and Kellan said he was also at the food station, catered by Kraft. They even named a sandwich after him called the Kellanwich. It consists of no bread and just slices and slices of meat wrapped around cheese. Christian's face was kinda of disgusted when Kellan said this. I guess it's pretty gross and the fact that she's a vegetarian might have also been a factor. Kellan also called out the guy fans and was like "How many guys are here? Around ten? Good job boys! Guys, there's a lot more action in New Moon. It's not a chick flick like the first one. And for the third one, you're going to be dragging your girlfriends to go." And at one point, he started playing with the flowers behind him. I guess he was checking if they were real or not? I don't know. haha.
Sam and Kellan just seemed really happy to be there. I don't know about Christian. She seemed kinda indifferent. Maybe she's just shy? I don't know. Sam and Kellan kept on talking about how our mall was the best and they couldn't believe how many people showed up. People were LINED around the upper balconies and lower ones and just all around the ice rink. They also said they could feel the energy we had and just how loud we were compared to everyone else. Don't know if they were just saying that but maybe we were? I think everyone in Edmonton was kinda of like 'OHMYGOD. PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY COMING TO EDMONTON." And we were the last stop before their premiere on Monday so they were definitely a lot more upbeat because it's the last one.
After the Q&A, we had to wait an hour and a half because they were doing pictures and interviews behind the enclosed thing in the back. Kim and me and the friends we made had to yell at some preteen girls though because they were trying to sneak up to the front. It was ridiculous. I mean all of us had wrist bands and they already told us we were guaranteed autographs so I have no idea why people were pushing and shoving and trying to get to the front. They were like four year old kids in front of me being trampled because these girls were pushing and shoving. I turned around and gave them crap about it. I mean, I'm like 5'8, which isn't really that tall, but compared to a 4 year old in front of me, I'm probably a monster. I wasn't going to hurt the kid and take some crap from a 12 year old who has absolutely no right to be pushing behind me. And people were just rude all around, not saying excuse me when trying to get through, and just pushing and elbowing people.
ANYWAYS, so at 5 o'clock they stared the autograph signing. Christian changed clothes which is kinda weird. Kellan was wearing a leather jacket. It was SOOO hot on him. I didn't really like his blonde hair though but that's okay. haha. So we got up there, there was kind of a lull cuz Kellan was talking and joking around with everyone. ESPECIALLY little kids. He was adorable with them. Anyways, Kim and me talked to Sam for a bit because of the lull there. There were soo many flashes going on and he was like "And this is why Hollywood actors have to wear sunglasses all the time. I can't really see right now." LOL. And we were dancing to the music and Lily Allen came on and I was like "ugh. Lily Allen again." And he asked me if the music was on a loop and we were like "yeah. we've been listening to the same thing for about 5 hours." and he apologized. Like it was his fault. So cute. haha
Christian never smiled at all. She didn't even greet us. She just took my Twilight DVD nad passed it on. I was like "Oh thanks." and she didn't even really look at me. She is pretty though but she wore A LOT of makeup. I was surprised because she is quite pretty. Kim told her that she had watched her on Ned's Survival blah blah the other night, she plays Suzie Crabgrass, and Christian was just like "Oh. Thanks." Maybe she's just really shy. I don't know. I don't know her at all to really judge her.
KELLAN ON THE OTHER HAND. Kim handed him her copy of Stick it and he was like "YEAH. STICK IT. ALRIGHT." and gave her a high five. And I was like "Generation Kill was SO awesome." And he gave me a high five too and asked me what I thought of it. He signed Kim's DVD and my Eclipse book. There were little stuffed teddy's all around him on the table. It was pretty funny and cute. Ugh, he was just really nice and geniunely happy to be there. So was Sam. It made me really happy.
Kellan is even more gorgeous in real life. I don't know how that's possible but he is. He's got the cutest smile and his forehead does this little v thing when he smiles. I don't really know how to describe it but it does.
