Why Him

She loved that he looked good in leather. And a business suit. And bare thread jeans. And nothing at all. It was no hardship to look at Oliver. He was all tight muscles and contained strength.

It should have bothered her that he dated her cousin and quite publicly on top of that. Lois and Oliver were two peas in a pod with their straight ( Read more... )

I like this -- the paragraph about the scene at the cafe was really telling -- and your characterization of Oliver as willing to follow her orders on the job but taking charge behind closed doors was really sexy. The reason I like Smallville's Oliver Queen so well is that he is so much more than just a playboy -- he's really grown and his relationship with Chloe is a huge illustration of the man he's become.

Awwww, I'm right with you with all of those reasons, and I also love the fact that they don't need to change anything of themselves to be together, because they know each other, the best and worst.

LOVE THIS: "But when the mission was over, he held her as a woman, not a commander. He made her yearn for something beyond stained glass."

Another awesome one-shot! :>

Those first five sentences. TRUE STORY! The man looks good in anything.

What it came down to was that Oliver never forgot her. He never made her feel small or unimportant.

Oh sweet jesus! How much do I love you right now? There whole relationship (to me and I haven't seen all the episodes yet) can be defined into that one little sentence. Clark always brushed Chloe off for Lana. Jimmy could never understand why she always chose Clark over him (until he died and granted i've only seen clips of Jimmy and Chloe together) but Oliver just gets her!

I mean seriously the last 2 minutes of Fortune were proof of that. He knew she couldn't be watch tower forever and then they rode of into the preverbial sunset together! One of the things that drew me to the fandom of Chlollie (from the episode's i've seen) is that they are complete equals, who yes are a bit private, but have a mutual understanding and respect for one another.

This fic was just...LOVE IT! And now I have to go watch that scene in Escape and see Oliver be all gentlemen-ie.

Thank you. This was so well written that I could almost see it play out in front of me.
