~Rotorua Trip: Saturday~
The Agrodome
I must say..the Agrodome is really interesting. There's the sheep show and the farm tour. You also get the chance to touch and feed the sheep there! Many pictures taken here too.
When we reached there, there was some extra time before the show started. So we visited the souvenir shop first (souvenirs again!). A few minutes before the show started, the sheep were lined up outside. We took the chance to take some pictures.
Meh meh~
Feels nice to sleep on? :X
The Merino feeling so great hahaha.
There were many visitors from different countries. There were Koreans, Americans and NZ locals from other parts of the country. A group of Japanese was sitting in front of us. The show had begun! The speaker resembled one of our lecturers from Massey. Haha!
He's introducing some different breeds. Most are bred for their wool. A few for their meat.
The gathering is complete!
After he introduced the different sheep breeds, he demonstrated a short shearing session of the sheep wool. O_O
Oops. This picture is blurish. But look at him doing it. I wonder if the sheep was traumatised...haha.
Now he brought in the cow. He's going to call up some young spectators. :)
The group of spectators who were picked/volunteered. The little girl at the left is sooooo <3
Took a picture of her milking the cow!
Next: Feed the baby lambs! The little girl was up on stage again, along with a group of young Korean boys.
Now he brought in their shepherd dogs!
The dog climbing up to top! :)
And the show ended well! It was enjoyable! After the show, we were allowed to take pictures with the staff, sheep or the dogs.
I took a picture with the doggie!
After the show, we went on a farm tour. The tour guide drove us on a truck and he was a friendly man. :)
Took a picture with the highland cattle!
Took a picture with the ostriches!
We stopped by a small fruit plantation. They were having kiwis and feijoas.
Overlooking the plantation!
A close-up of the feijoa fruit!
A close-up of the kiwi fruit! (Leaves had turned brown and withered since it's winter after all.)
We dropped by a little house where they stored some kiwi wine and feijoa juice. They were really tasty! But I didn't take pictures of any of the drinks though..
Liza and Xinyu taking a shot with the Deer's antlers.
Here's the fun part! We could get down and feed the sheep. The sheep were really excited when they saw/smelled the food!
Look at Peiyu. Totally surrounded by the sheep.
Me feeding one of them. Oh wait, it could be a llama.
I took a picture with our guide!
And lastly...not forgetting our cows.
The visit to the Agrodome was memorable! Next up, Maori performance and dinner at Matariki Theatre. :)
