Chinese New Year is a short festive season we have every year. It's a time of food, merry and ang pow (red packets)! And this year marks the Rabbit year, of the Chinese Astrological Calendar.

We had relatives visiting our house on the second day of CNY. Uncle bought a Yu Sheng (or Prosperity Toss, according to Wikipedia :P) set. The set includes salmon pieces, shredded veggie, nuts and other various condiments.
This is before tossing.
After we tossed everything with chopsticks and shouted words of fortune/prosperity, this is the result:
It looks messy but it's really good!
The lunch my mum cooked up for everyone. Fried bee hoon, fried fish cakes, prawns and more! My favourite is definitely Ngoh Hiang (meat rolls)!
My adorable cousin! She's really energetic and sweet. She's a natural in front of the camera, so don't play play!

Our Massey class rep, Wensheng organized a visiting session with the class. It's one of the craziest visiting days I had. We conquered 7 houses in a day. XD
I have to mention Matthew's house because..... it has LV! He was really thrilled to meet us. He zoomed around the whole house all the time. He was an inquisitive one. Sniffing everything, everyone and enjoyed touching our legs with his front paws XD. Kinda scary at first but you will get used to him after a while.
Matthew's dog, LV. He's really cute and full of energy!
And on our way to X house, we saw this LOVELY creature (Sorry, this has become an animal post XD):
Kitty with awkward sleeping position? When we walked past, it stirred a little but still slept like nobody's business. Love its orangy fur with brown prints!
At Liza's house, we had Soto Ayam (a Malay dish) for lunch. Her mum makes really good Soto Ayam!
Rice cakes, chicken slices, mashed pototoes, YUM! I especially love the potaoes~ The best I have eaten so far.
I took a group picture of our lovely girls!
I find this really cute! Everyone queuing up to exchange oranges with our dear host, Liza's mum!
At the final house, we had steam boat for dinner. A hundred thanks to Siew Lee's parents who prepared much for us! :)
Lots of ingredients on the table! My stomach almost burst at the end of the meal.
Indeed, it's an interesting and thoroughly enjoyable rabbit year! :D
