That's how I've always fixed my muffs (and I have to make them myself because you can't find them around here). Heat the bread and have the other ingredients room temp. I don't like them when everything's cold.

Now I'm starving! I can get reasonably good meats here and the cheese and even olive salad, but good bread isn't so easy to find in my area.
