WTF?  Seriously?

Country-Style Groundhog

Ingredients:

1 groundhog
1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. cooking oil
1/2 tsp. sugar

Directions: 
Shoot the ground hog, preferably with a 22 gauge rifle. Clean and skin as soon as possible. Remove all sent glands. Cut off head, feet and tail. Cure in cool place by suspending from hook approximately ( Read more... )

Thanx for the recipe! I hadn't thought about bagging a groundhog, but what the heck - it's worth an experiment. Probably would work for 'dillo, but I like our armored ground-piggie too much to turn her into dinner.

Any gardner is thankful for the recipe. They have to be shot anyway if you want to get any of your own produce. Might as well eat him too.

Since they are herbivores, I am guessing they are pretty tasty. Be kinda sad though, like hunting hamsters.
