The mattress fundraiser turned out well. My manager said I could leave work once I finished my paperwork so that's what I did... finished it a lot quicker than usual. I'd have been fairly surprised if the staff had said anything about it. Not only is it not possible to draw firm conclusions (it's not unlikely that a pair of guys trying out mattresses together are a gay couple, but it's far from the only explanation), it would also be highly unprofessional for them to comment on it, not to mention a bad business move.
