Learning social psychology and sociology kind of makes me sick of myself. I mean, humans are pretty fucked up to begin with, and everybody knows this, but analyzing how odd everything is in our culture and all the idiosyncracies (sp?), it makes you feel kind of down. yeah. if life wasn't fucked up enough already. now we have psychology and communications classes that make us realize how much more it is. i know how it goes. i've been thinking the same thing recently, which doesn't help. lol.

Very well said. I whole-heartedly agree with everything you just said! The other surprising thing is that people always assume that they can predict their own behavior, such as "Oh, that guy didn't do the right thing, but in the same situation, I definately would have done right!" It makes me scared that I've really been the bad person all along, but in class today we were talking about how it's not that there are bad people in the world; it's the SITUATIONS that we're in that bring out the good/bad in us.

I'm hoping that by realizing how fucked up the world is, I'll be able to better understand myself and my patients someday. The first step to change is realizing you have a problem, right? lol

I went to church the other day (finally! lol). It's so funny, what you wrote reminded me of this- the guy was talking about how man is the most perfect creature, and I thought that was hilarious, how narrow-minded and arrogant it is to believe that.

But even though you're completely right about technology, the internet is still the last free medium! =)
