Well here are my contributions to the Roswell_100.
These are all about Max

001. Desert
He remembered waking up in the cave, remembered seeing his siblings. He remembered the pain in his chest as he left behind the tiny blonde with the ringlets and pale skin.
Mostly though, he remembered the desert. The vast cold desert that filled him with fear and questions. Remembered the feeling of gritty sand in-between his toes and the cold air against bare skin.
Somedays when the pressure of his secrets grew too strong, when the role of protector was to much he remembered the vast desert and tried to remind himself of only having to be afraid of the vastness of the desert, not of space.

002. High School
It was big.
The brick building loud with the noises of students that wanted to be there. On his left was Isabel. She was tall and strong and beautiful, ready to enter high school and rule it like she ruled the rest of her life. On his right, Michael, in tattered jeans wearing unhappy face.
“We have to be careful now. High school students might notice us if we are different.” She looked at him with scorn.
“Whatever Max, I have to go meet someone.”
Michael just shrugged while Max looked up at the brick building and just knew somehow this building would tear them apart.

004. Diner
He gripped his mother’s hand tighter. It wasn’t that he was afraid. He just didn’t like new places. This was definitly a new place. The aliens on the wall and all the strangely named food. This place was strange.
“Max, honey its ok we are just going to grab some lunch before we had to the mall. It’s the best diner in town.” He didn’t answer; he just kept looking around at the people, the food and the expressions on peoples faces. Then he saw her, a brown haired girl his age, sitting at the counter calmly coloring while all the bustle went on around her.
Maybe this place wasn’t so bad after all.
