I have gone for short slow runs every day for the last 4 days. The final run that caused all the pain/injury in Michigan was July 26...so it has been a long road to recovery. Still not 100%...but I am happy to be able to run again for the last stretch. ART therapy is AMAZING. Active Release Technique....it's a message/manipulation of the muscle ( Read more... )

Hi ya ...the plan is to start training for the marathon...in a week or so. I booked the flight/villa/car in August...there's no turning back =o). The gal that's doing the ART therapy on me has done several ironman competitions. She assures me that there's still time to take it easy and recover and then train hard. She won't let me run for more than 30 minutes at a time yet. She thinks maybe next week, if all's going well, I can start increasing the length of the runs. Apparently there's a 12 week training program for completing a marathon. My initial goal was 5 hours...I have altered the goal to 7 hours at this point. I just want to cross the finish line. I have also registered for the half marathon in Ottawa next May. After that...I too am going to try the triathlon. I'll be coming to you for advice. Are you coming to the folks' for Thanksgiving?
