Well certainly not after THAT. Frankly I don't give a crap what service I use as long as it freaking WORKS, which is something that's much more difficult to find than it really should be. I'd seriously consider switching over to somewhere else if I were your parents, just because that was such total bullshit. A few angry letters might be a good idea too.
