One of the joys of going back to Academic study* is finding, in among the many dry texts and articles needed for background reading, sudden treasures that strike a deep and unexpected chord.  Tonight I found a passage that sang straight to my heart - and in the most of unlikely places too.   Lurking in an introduction to a book that discusses how ( Read more... )

A peice of hidden treasure, well worth unearthing and sharing with the world. And a very unexpected thing to find in an academic text - even if it is a book about how to write!

The tartness of pears and the swirls of distant stars ... the words on my tongue like bright bubbles, bursting with possibility and inspiration ...

There is just so much in this ... Taste and scent and feel :-)

That's just ... I have no words! I do come across stuff like that, and trudge my way through all sorts of not-at-all interesting articles, but there seems to be just enough of the more intriguing material to keep me engaged - and discoveries like this are pure joy.

Just as well really - I have another two and half years of research and thesis writing to go ...
