Good game, this ...

Okay.  So last week I was shifting boxes, moving out of my weekday flat and bringing home everything (well, most of it, anyway) that I'd managed to accumulate over the past four and half years.  Like additional crockery and cutlery.  My good office clothes.  My craft stuff.  Several shelves of books (and the shelves ...)  Folders and files for the ( Read more... )

to-do list, rl

I'm glad to hear that you're well on your way to being settled back home. ::hugs::

I can identify with the boxes, though for a different reason. Nearly a year and a half ago, my friends helped me 'stage' my house for selling, which basically means removing anything remotely personal or 'cluttery' in the way of decor, putting half the contents of closets into boxes, to make them look bigger ::sighs::, and ridding myself of shelving units (more stuff into boxes, like dvds, cds, books) -- all with the effect of feeling like I'm living in a nice but impersonal space, and I have NO idea in which box to look for anything. I have stacks of boxes far higher than my head lining the walls of my garage.

I will be SO glad when I'm finally moved and everything is unpacked in the new spot -- which, at this point, looks like it might be sometime in 2011. Of course, then I'll remember that something I want has been left in the trailer in California. ;)

I've been having that problem for four and a bit years. 'I need ... oh - it's the other side of the country. It'll have to wait until the weekend ...'

At least now I have everything under one roof. Don't know where or which box it's in, but it'll be here. Somewhere! *g*

Do people really think half empty cupboards are bigger? I think I'd be more impressed with just how much stuff could be fitted in (and this theory presumably, thinks that would be buyers don't look too hard at the garage!)

It is good to be home, chaos and stumbling round boxes notwithstanding. The cats think it's wonderful, as there's someone else around to give them treats and scritches on demand. Working from home is taking some getting used to though. Too many distractions around! :-)
