Those are apparently the only two points you can swim from and to. If you start at St. John's, Newfoundland and go to Dublin, you go through the same ocean path. If you start in Miami and go to Athens you take the same route through Massachusetts. If you start in Anchorage and go to Helsinki you still go through Massachusetts.

You cannot, however, travel from San Francisco to Tokyo. And while you can go from New York to Athens, New York to Istanbul and Mexico City to Madrid are right out.
