I don't ship JohnLock, either!! Eee! This is quite cool. Like you mentioned above, it's difficult to find "gen shippers" (as I shall now dub those of us who support and adore epic, platonic bromances and the like) amidst fandom's mighty ranks. When confronting those who just can't see the platonic in a matter (perhaps out of some strange notion that characters can't be close without also being in a physical relationship, which, really? Separate issues entirely), I tend to sit there, spluttering, "But--but--the canon!" and wave my hands about in confused despair.
...the chicks just plowed on in a very asinine and rude way. Saying such things that I wasn’t a true Sherlockian if I didn’t believe in the love Sherlock and John had, and continued for a good five minutes of ranting and raving.Okay, so it's one thing to accept one's fanon-related interpretations of characters as something fun to experiment with mentally or creatively, and quite another to get angry when someone else doesn't agree with those fanon interpretations. I may not

I have no problem with Johnlockers, I really don't. But dear Lord these girls were some of the worst! The fact that they couldn't respect my view of the fanon kind of ticked me off. Heh, after I posted this on my tumblr, my ask box EXPLODED with a bunch of Johnlockers calling me a homophobe and gay hater. Some tried to convert me to Johnlock as well. Instead of taking offense, I just answered each one rationally and in a way that completely derailed them. They deserved a little fresh perspective. I also have to admit it was quite amusing reading some of the things they sent me. ^.^
Go team gen! :D I'm so happy; it is so hard to find those of us in the minority that I pretty much get all giddy when someone says they are gen! XD
