I'm a politician. That means that I have to occasionally gently massage the truth into something that's easier to hear.

It seem politer than "lie because sometimes constituents have no idea how the government works and just want stupid things."

I regularly get e-mails demanding that we get rid of taxes. All the taxes. Sometimes, I ignore people for their own good.
