Gaara entered, each brisk step one after the other up the steps of the white stone of the grand Forum a most calming place the young man had more often than not had taken the opportunity to pull himself away from the old Senators and take the time to think on his own. To pull himself away from the villa, and far from that pink haired loud mouth, though slowly learning her place in his household there had still been kinks needed to work out with the narrow green eyed glare and the curl of her lip in disgust. The Magums was a place for many to go when needed to be drawn back to the very core of Rome's great history, built from it creating the vastly expanding Empire to the far reaches of the world they had known. Gaara had not much cared for such things, only serving under Caesar to satisfy that reaching lust for blood that he had discovered he had a taste for the first time driving a short bladed dagger through the soft meaty flesh of his enemies. The Kingdom had gown, yes this he had to admit having traveled long side Julius on the ( ... )

As Konan walked through the marble halls her eye was caught by glaringly red hair. She only knew of one person in all of Rome with that color of hair. She weighed her options. She could either go talk to him and gain some minor amusement in the form of irritation, or she could ignore him and continue on her meandering way.

She strode over to the general, her head held high.

She smirked and greeted, "Well, if it isn't General Sabaku. What a surprise to see you, but it almost looks as if you are hiding. How utterly disrespectful to your peers. Perhaps I should inform them of your aversion?"

A lid slid calmly and slowly open to the sound of the voice in greeting, her tone insolent as nothing less of a savage Queen. Though it was a direct order to mind her, and treat her with utmost respect, respect for those who he had slaughtered when their refusal to bend to the Empire left a growl in his throat and a burning desired to slice through that pretty little neck of hers. "Surprising? tch....considering that I am here when not in my own home. I do my duty to this Senate, no savage woman can tell me otherwise." He answered in a harsh rebuttal. "You speak of disrespect to my peers? What about making yourself comfortable while your people die from starvation, without the leadership of their so called Queen, one who lives now in the shadow protecting wing of the man who conquered it all ( ... )

Konan's eyes narrowed. How dare he speak of her people like he knew anything at all about them? And to call her a bad queen! The gall! Her pale hands clenched into fists.

"And who is the one who slaughtered my kin and people when they had done nothing to garner such violence?" she spat. She quickly remembered to bite her tongue, however. She did not need him finding out about her plans; he would tell on her to Caesar in a heartbeat.

She took a deep breath. "But, the past is the past, I suppose." Oh what a lie that was. She would not, could not, forgive Gaara or Caesar for the destruction of her home. The thought of the people dying in her homeland sent a painful spear through her heart.

"Good day General." He nodded in response to the respectful gesture, eyeing the young lad as he paced his way in slowly nearly soundlessly across the marble floor to where he and his second trusted war adviser had stood. His narrow eyes turned a glance over the red heads shoulder to the taller woman that had stood her ground at his side. Amazing she was not in tears or eyes burning with hate for his death by now, Gaara had always had a knack for swooning the ladies in such ways. It was a wonder to Caesar how could a boy raised by Virgin priestesses could mold into something as harsh and uncaring as he had become, though he had figured being in the front lines of war for 5 years would melt away any form of kindness he might have possessed, lost and forgotten. He had become the perfect man to be graced by the Gods and one who was made for the dark world of bloodshed and combat ( ... )

Konan smiled at Caesar and gave a deep curtsy. She hated the man, but being polite got her so many more things than being a bitch, or a "savage" as General Sabaku had called her.

"He has been quite intriguing, Lord Caesar. I had been quite bored until he showed up," informed the queen. It wasn't a complete lie. He had kept her from being bored. Besides, she had no interest in getting Gaara in trouble. She had no interest in lowering herself to his level, plus if she had said anything negative he would have just become more of a thorn in her side.

He shifted a sly narrow glare to the woman to his side with a flat expression masking the extreme disgust for the savage foreign knowing full well by the slight mocking -high and mighty- tone that plagued her tone that she had not been entirely truthful. A curl in his lips, a hint of a resembling a smirk tugging the corner of his mouth. The mere thought of her 'telling' on him had not phased him in the slightest, Gaara had lived through and seen much in this life to know that Julius knew better than to upset the will of the Gods, he being marked by them clear to him and all that angering Gaara could be crucial to the rise and or fall of the Empire ( ... )

"You are so cocky, Sabaku. It's a wonder you still live." Antony smirked wide, admitting a similar cynical grin matching that of the young red head himself when ever in deep gruesome thoughts and the heat of the battle to come. Marc Antony was one to be admired when put to the test, doing his duty to his king at the front lines of battle only seeing Gaara as a pest in his way to glory and fame. A bug that needed to be squished ( ... )
