Apologies to those wanting to see my work, at the moment I'm still figuring out how to get it onto my computer. ~.~  I believe they're showing us how to scan the chrome film this week though, so I'll be able to show you all that crap I've taken.  XD  The problem with digital is the Leaf Digital Back captures the files as Mosaics (.MOS) and I don't ( Read more... )

Is that the park thing the pirate ship used to be at? That was a fun place, we should go next summer, when we're not freezing our collective arses off like last time. XD

Good, because I miss listening to heavy rock mixed with classical piano sung in a dialect that is barely undersandable to those who speak the same language. XD Though I did randomly find a CD I burned that had most of my favorites on it, that I don't even remember burning...

Magic Beans. That has to be it.

I lived in Millers Falls, and there's some pretty crazy cool stuff around there. just take Millers Falls Rd away from Turners Falls and you'll stumble upon some abandoned boxcars and a big abandoned paper mill that you can wander the grounds of.(the legality of such actions I cannot assure you.) If it's not snowing, drive up to green river (take exit 26 towards shelburne, very first right, right onto plains road, and continue until you hit a dirt road). Green river is beautiful. if you take the right directly before the dirt road, there's a covered bridge at the bottom of the hill, but the hill is way too steep to get your car out if there's snow, so you might want to walk down. Also, if you take the dirt road for several miles, you'll end up in vermont at a pretty red covered bridge ( ... )

Ah, that's good to know. I hadn't really explored too much of the Millers Falls area beyond the Book Mill. And the school's already showed us many such places, I'm intending to go back to Shelburne Falls this weekend to explore some of the places I didn't get to before. And to play in the potholes.

I heard about the mental institute in Northampton, but my dependence on others for transportation killed my chance last time, as several members of my group spent 2 hours in an alleyway near the parking garage, and then declared themselves done and were ready to go home.

Thanks for the tip on the glassware stuff. I was wondering since the Thrift store rarely seemed to have unique items like that available. I actually think I might know that place too, I'll go down and have a look next week.

Speaking of snow, how quick are the plowing crews out in force out here? And should I invest in a good pair of snow boots if they aren't? XD

I'd invest in a good pair of snow boots, but they're pretty good about clearing snow as soon as it turns up. They really make maryland's weather response look like a bunch of whining sissies.

Heh, I suppose that's expected. These people live in the snow from what, November through March? People down in Maryland tend to shit their pants when the forcast calls for a flurry.
