Quick Catch Up

Things were busy today. My mom was supposed to help me make a Mushroom Sauce this afternoon for dinner, but her doctor's appointment went way overtime & she didn't make it back in time. I had no choice but to try to muddle my way through it on my own. Needless to say I was more than a little nervous, but it actually turned out. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that I actually managed to make Gravy & it wasn't even lumpy! It's a first for me. All previous attempts to make gravy have ended up with there being so many lumps that if I were to strain it, there'd be nothing left. I've been teased that I don't make gravy, I make brown dumplings. It actually turned out today. I used a recipe from a really old cookbook (American Woman's Cookbook, printed in 1946), but it was called "Mushroom Sauce". My mom said that it tasted just like her "Homesteader Gravy". I had to admit that she was right. It even looked the same. Weird. Only difference is that I added mushrooms & she normally doesn't

I am glad your doctor appointment is today and I hope you get some answers.

I will take a peek at your twilight fiction tomorrow. I close tonight then open in the morning but I have a early ending shift tomorrow if you want to chat or if not I am off Thursday to do so.

I'll email chapter 1 to you today so if I'm not available tomorrow at the same time you're around you'll still have it for when you have time. (That was one of the most awkward sentences I've written in a while...hopefully you get the general idea of what I was trying to say. **laughs** )

I'm not really sure what I'm doing tomorrow...but I'll make sure I have Thursday free.

My appointment didn't go very well...but it's pretty much what I expected. The doctor is setting up an MRI for me, but I have no idea when that'll be.
