Banff Weekend

And then it was time to sleep.

The next day, we went to Sulphur Mountain. In the morning, the mountains were covered with clouds. It was a spectacular site.. you know.. .for someone who never leaves Ottawa.

It rained during the night, so some peopel were just sleepy. After this picture was taken, I went up to Jammie's face and took a picture with the flash ^_^

I SEE MOUNTAINS! I got a little cameraexcited.

Me with the mountains. Exciting, no?

It looks like Jammie forgave me for the whole flash thing.

Lac Louise. It's like a postcard!

Faheem, Janet, Georges, and I enjoying the sight.

The animals are adapted to people being around. It's probably a bad thing, and probably unavoidable. People don't read the "do not feed" signs.

Self portrait!

Random visitors .There are lots of visitors there.

We decided to take it easy and soak up the beauty.

After awhile, I explored the Fairmount hotel. It was pretty classy. Payphones cost 35¢, but they have notepads in case you have to write something down.

The bathroom had tables and all kinds of things.

but the stalls were still small.

After another bagged lunch, we headed for Sulphur Mountain. 3km high, 6km of hiking... I was more afraid of the trip down.

Trees and stuff. People hiking!

Breaks along the way kept a nice pace.

Trees are tall. But thin. I bet the media didn't want them to be.. "big trunked".

In the mountains!

How do we get down? in a bucket suspended by a pulley on a metal wire.

Is it a gontola or a roller caoster? I'm not a fan of roller coasters.

I would hike down myself... but three minutes is much shorter than 90.

Look who made it to the top! The sight was spectacular.

There were even animals at the top!

Canada's flag hangs proudly.

supermushroom!

Random people were getting wedding pictures done or something.

Now it's time to go down. I honestly thought I would die on the way down.

ANgela and Andrea were in my gondola. Nothing can kill Angela, so I'm pretty safe, right?

I'm actually on the thing! I thought the thing would accelerate to me doom, but it turned out to be pretty nice.

The view on the way down was phenomenal.

The trees from above. I put my arm out of the window! Isn't that neat?

An empty gondola goes back up!

Georges came along as well!

Once that fiasco was over, we went to go eat in Banff. The city looks very tourist-friendly.

We ate at the Old Spaghetti factory.

We had Spaghetti! duh! Mine was spicy.

Cat and I told the waitors that it was Agnès' Birthday. So they brought her cake, and everyone sang! It was pretty funny ^_^

THere are sculptures in the mall. I took pictures, trying to look as non-tourist as possible.

We went to a THermal Pool, heated naturally by something or other. I didn't go into the pool, so I hung out with Hoda and took pictures.

Banff, Banff!

This "waterfall" was also heated naturally.

The water smelled like sulphur.

There's everyone in the water!

Jammie and Uyen are happy. The water must've been comfortable.

ANother nigiht, another fire!

I like fire.

And Marchmalllows. I don't like them when they're burnt.

Uyen had a field day and roasted like five at once!

Then it began to rain, so we went to bed early...
