I can't believe I'm still not finished my Saskatoon trip. Since I've nothing else to do, I may as well catch up.
June 14
This particular day was a formal dinner and casino night. Yeah, it sounded silly on paper, but it turned out to be a lot of fun. Here, Sadiq wasn't wearing a tie, so le monsieur was giving him a hard time about entering. About 4 people were let in before Sadiq. It was pretty funny.
The etables were pretty nice looking. I just din't understand why they didn't give us candles. They make a big deal about us being adults, but then they don't trust us with fire? *sigh*
Everyone has places. I guess they wanted to try mixing people up so that the same people weren't always together. Here I am with Janet, Cindy (or was it Christina?), Graham, Lisa, and Brea.
We started off with some odd bean salad. It was fairly good iirc.
The main dish was some sort of spring roll with rice. The meal had a nasty mint taste about it, which made it not that great. I dont' think many people finished the meal.
We were being served by the teachers. I was all excited to use fancy polite french, but I never really got an opportunity.
The desert was taramisu. I had never had it before, and thought it was pretty good. Many people complained about it though...

I gossiped with Joren and Cat about what they thought about the meal. Angela took our picture. The picture on the left, holding the coffee pot, was the one that served my table.
Here I am with Angela. Her personality is pretty energetic. Though here she was probably sad that she only got one dessert.
ZOTOS! They kicked us out so that they can prepare for the casino night. We were all waiting in this pretty small hallway.
Mike, Lisa, Brittta, Kim, and Sonal all are there.
Amanda gave lots of thought about how she could win at casino. I think she was trying to steal my momey, but she wasn't successful.

By the end of the night, there was an auction. Everyone was pooling their money into various groups. John was bidding for the grand prize: a box of potato chips.
The other team won the auction, but the teachers had to be sure that they had enough money... or else John's team would win it all.
Frantically counting!
The other team bid too much money, so John's team ended up winning ^_^
