Hi! I'm a Technical Theater major and I just started in september. I have to say that I really love all my theater related classes. I am in the Voice class that musical theater majors have to take. There's then a recital at the end of the year and the professors decided to accept people into the musical theater program. I love my voice class.

I love theater here. I feel really welcome even though I'm a freshman non-performance major. There's people who don't get involved and therefore feel really left out. Really, gen eds are the only thing that get me down.

And if it makes a difference, the marching band here is really great.

I'm not sure about theatre, but I'm a music [oboe performance] major and I've found our program wonderful so far. There's a new, really nice building for us. I've found all the musicians here are extremely friendly; I had no problems adjusting. You'd probably like our band. :3

That's what I have to contribute.

I'm a musical theatre major. I love the school and the theatre department, but there's not much in the way of the music theatre program itself. You would have to take a basic music theory course, as well as a year of voice class followed by voice lessons. I personally adore Dr. Field, who instructs voice lessons.

What's great about the department in general is that everyone knows each other and there isn't a sense of uppityness (yeah, I invented a word) about us. We like to have fun. The course outline does prepare you to work in other areas of theatre. I love costume making and if I didn't go here I don't know how I would have learned as much as I did.

If you can, come pay a visit to the school and check us out. We will all be willing to talk to you about anything.
