Hey everyone :) Name's Kathleen, grew up in Jersey but I've gone to St. Louis University for the past 2 years and am looking into transferring to WCU this fall as either a junior or sophomore, depending on how my credits decide they want to transfer ( Read more... )

I have to agree with the above somewhat. My freshman and sophomore year I lived on campus and found a lot of people just wanted to drink and party, and I wasn't like that, so I found it hard to meet people I could be friends with ( ... )

I don'tgo to WCU, but hopefully I will in the fall. However, I do know some great people there who would love to meet you. There's this club called Covenant Campus Fellowship. It's a wonderful club. It is a christian club though. There are some really cool people who are in it though.

I appreciate your suggestions, but I think I'd be out of place in something like that. Thanks anyway :) Are you a prospective transfer as well?

I'm a graduating senior who still lives in the dorms. The dorms are meh, but any immediate off-campus housing is probably already taken.

I don't party either, but I've found a good group of friends to go out with to movies and restaurants and such, or just hang out at their apartment and watch movies. They show movies on the weekends at Sykes Student Union. Granted, they are movies that are just about to come out on DVD, but it's a social activity. Check the website about events.

Yeah, I definitely prefer more low-key atmospheres, like movies/restaurants or just hanging out with friends, to big parties. Living somewhere off-campus would be my first choice at this point, but there's the issue of not knowing ANYONE at all at WCU... oh well, maybe next year. :) Thanks for your input.

I feel bad for everybody else. I'm a first year and I've had an absolutely terrific experience so far this year. I love it here. I would recommend it to anyone. The dorms aren't crummy - they're DORMS. What do you expect? You make do. Get creative.

There are a plethora of things to do on campus and off campus. The professors are phenomenal, the students in my classes WANT to be there.

Oh, and I don't do sororities (so I'm not in one) and I don't drink or party, either.

I love it here.
